Summer Reads

“One benefit of summer was that each day we had more light to read by”…….
I love Summer and I love Reading so I thought I would combine them and make a summer reading list!!
So, I have gathered five books that have a summer feel to them. A few of them I have read and a few I am in the process of reading.
First up is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen! You could interchange any of the Jane Austen books for this one. Her books always make me feel like I’ve just been called to tea, this one has been on my TBR for quite a while, and I can’t wait to read it!!
The Wind in the Willows.
This is one of my favorite books and a definite reread every year! Rat and Mole and their wonderful escapades…
I think my favorite character in the book (Besides Mole and Ratty) was Toad and all of his crazy adventures. From falling in love with the motor car (poop, poop!) to masquerading as a washer woman. The adventure never stops!
Definitely my favorite summer read.
Anne of green gables.
I am currently reading this one…. and it is fast becoming a favorite, this is book one.
This series follows Anne (spelled with an E, of course) from the time she is adopted by Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert until she is an Adult… And if the other books are as spell binding as this one, I can hardly wait!
The Mysterious Benidict Society.
I chose this one because it is such a fun read! It’s about four children who join together to save their world from a disaster!
Its full of twists and turns, puzzles and fun!!!
It is as amazing as it sounds!
And last but not least, Alice In Wonderland.
No Summer reading list would be complete without it! I’m not sure how many times I have read this book, but I love it every time!
It would be impossible to say whether my favorite poem was “Jabberwocky“, or
“You are old, Father William,” the young man said,
“And your hair has become very white;
And yet you incessantly stand on your head-
Do you think, at your age, it is right?
And let’s not forget “The Walrus and The Carpenter” and so many others.
A delightful read altogether!
If you have read any of these books, I would love to know your thoughts!! Drop a list of your favorite Summer reads in a comment below or on FB: Between the Pages, Instagram: its.between.the.pages or Email me at between_the.pages@yahoo.com
Happy reading!!!
